Chiba Prefecture (千葉県) lies to the east of Tokyo Metropolis. Much of the area of the Chiba is taken up by the Boso Peninsula—a luscious green area that sees more rainfall than Tokyo and the rest of Chiba. Although the sixth most populous prefecture, most residents of Chiba live in the northern areas.
