Hamarikyu Gardens

Famous garden that lies on land that was reclaimed in the late 17th century by Tokugawa Tsunashige, and was renovated and landscaped by his son Ienobu.

Hachijo Botantical Garden

Large botanical garden opened in 1962. The grounds includes greenhouse with plants native to the island, a view point, and woodland. The Hachijo Visitor Center is also located in the grounds and is a good place to start to get maps and plan what you’re going to see (you an also see the glowing mushrooms native to the island!).

Ueno Park

Famous park which is home to five museums, two concert halls, and Ueno Zoo. Especially popular during the cherry blossom season.

Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden

One of the most famous gardens in central Tokyo covering an area of almost 60 hectares. It opened to the public in 1949 and today is home to three gardens (traditional Japanese, French formal, English landscape) and a rock-landscaped greenhouse.
