Kushiro Shitsugen National Park (釧路湿原国立公園, Kushiro-shitsugen Kokuritsu Kōen) is a national park located in the Kushiro Sub-prefecture in the east of Hokkaido known for its almost 30,000 hectares of wetland—the largest in Japan. It was designated a national park in 1987 to protect the species that lived in the marsh reeds, primary amongst them the Japanese Cranes.
