Often referred to as “Kanazawa’s Kitchen”, it has been operating for over 300 years. Today is has almost 200 shops and stores, many of which sell fresh fish and other local specialities, but you can also find clothing stores and other souvenirs on sale.

With Kanazawa’s location on the coast, the city is known for its fresh fish and getting a sashimi bowl at one of the market restaurants is a great experience, but expect to queue during lunch hours. The official website has a map and introduction to the market available for download (link here).
