The Haisai Okinawa Festa transforms Kawasaki’s Italian-inspired LA CITTADELLA complex into a vibrant island celebration every Golden Week. This five-day event features roughly 50 stalls serving authentic Okinawan cuisine, awamori, and traditional crafts. Daily performances of Eisa drumming and sanshin music fill the open-air plazas from 11:00 to 21:00, blending tropical energy with unique European-style architecture. It is a premier destination for experiencing the “Land of Smiles” just minutes from central Tokyo. See the official website for the full schedule.

LA CITTADELLA is conveniently located just a five-minute walk from the East Exit of JR Kawasaki Station. While the main plaza performances are free to watch, certain high-profile concerts in the Club Citta venue may require separate tickets. The food stalls are a major draw, particularly for regional specialties like Soki Soba and blue seal ice cream, so arriving early is recommended to beat the lunch rush. Because the event is spread across the entire complex, it offers a more spacious feel compared to Yoyogi Park’s Okinawan festivals, making it a favorite for families.
