The launch area for the Shonan Hiratsuka Hanabi Taikai is the at the end of the Hiratsuka Shinminato Marina someway from the shoreline which means that spectators are treated to an obstructed view of the 3,000 fireworks that will be launched during the event, all synced to music. A taiko drumming performance is planned before the fireworks so get there early if you can! The event will be postponed to Sunday in the event of stormy weather.
