Manjushage is a deep red flower known as “Red Spider Lily” or “Red Magic Lily” and fields of it come into bloom from mid-September in Kinchakuda Park in Hidaka (Saitama Prefecture). The park is open from 9am until 4:30pm and entrance costs ¥300. There will also be about 30 stalls set up especially for the festival.
By local train it’s about 90 minutes from JR Ikebukuro Station, but you can also take Seibu Ikebukuro Line’s Red Arrow train for about ¥1,000 as it stops at Komagawa (高麗川) during the festival and takes about 50 minutes.
