About 4,000 fireworks are launched from a barge on the Arakawa River for this annual hanabi taikai—and those watching from the river bank either side will be just 150 meters away from the action. Because the event is held on a weekday the venue is a little less crowded than at other firework festivals in Tokyo with about 350,000 spectators last year.
