The Hachioji Festival is a major event on the Tokyo calendar and attracts visitors from far outside the Hachioji area (attendance is usually over 800,000). The event is held over 3-days in early August and includes performances from geisha, night markets, traditional taiko drummers, a lion dance, and a 19-float procession, among other attractions. Don’t miss the firework event that normally takes place the weekend before!
The festival takes place outside the North Exit of Hachioji Station with events starting in the early afternoon and lasting into the evening.
