The Greenmarket Sumida is started in September 2016 as a place for farmers and local shop owners to sell their goods while supporting the redevelopment of the Sumida area. While the food is the main focus of the market, there are also stalls with handmade crafts as well as vans serving hot food. Shoppers who buy more than ¥3,000 of produce and live in Sumida can have the goods delivered to their door for free.
10:00am-4:00pm. Typically held on the first weekend of each month, but dates are subject to change. Check the official website for more details.
The market is held on the Uruoi Plaza outside the Sumida Municipal offices. Easiest way to get there is to exit from Asakusa Station and walk over the bridge towards Tokyo Skytree.
