Oct 24

While originally a staple of the August summer circuit since 1988, the event was suspended after 2015 due to the construction of the Olympic and Paralympic Village in the Harumi district. Organizers have now moved the date to autumn to avoid the extreme heat and unpredictable weather of mid-summer. The spectacle is features approximately 12,200 fireworks launched over the bay, providing a luminous backdrop for the Rainbow Bridge and the Tokyo skyline.
