The Ome Noryo Fireworks Festival features approximately 4,000 fireworks set off from the Nagayama Park athletic grounds. While smaller than central Tokyo’s displays, it attracts around 15,000 spectators and offers 30–40 food stalls near the venue. The festival is renowned for the “Nagayama Great Niagara,” a massive pyrotechnic waterfall suspended between trees on the hillside. Though located in Tokyo, Ome Station is roughly 110 minutes from Shinjuku, providing a scenic mountain alternative to the crowded urban riverside events.

Because the fireworks are launched from a forested hillside, the sound echoes significantly off the surrounding mountains, creating a much more powerful acoustic experience than open-water displays. The viewing area in Nagayama Park involves a short but steep uphill walk from Ome Station; visitors should wear comfortable shoes as the natural terrain can be uneven in the dark. While the park offers the best view of the Niagara Falls display, many locals watch from the various shrines and open lots along the historic Ome-kaido road to avoid the density of the main athletic grounds.
