The Jingu-Gaien Fireworks Festival is one of the few firework events to be held in central Tokyo. Spectators can watch from the surrounding streets, but there is also the option to purchase seating for the rugby stadium, softball ground, main baseball stadium (Jingu Stadium), and nearby Tokyo Metropolitan Gymnasium. At the Jingu Stadium there is a pre-firework concert at which famous JPOP groups usually make an appearance (AKB48 performed there in 2016).
Ticket sales for seating start from June and purchases are via Chiketto Pia website (Japanese only). See the official website (below) for details of this year’s line-up. Tickets for the concert range from ¥4,000 to ¥7,000, while seating at the other venues is ¥2,500-4,000. Note that (1) the Tokyo Metropolitan Gymnasium is a little further from the action and so there are no pre-firework events, and (2) the rugby stadium has a live feed to the concert at the baseball stadium and some more minor artists also make an appearance. In the case of rain the event may be postponed to the following day.
