The lanterns are illuminated daily from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM\, creating a vivid nocturnal backdrop across historic stone bridges and local shopping arcades. \nLanterns are hung in various areas\, including the city’s historic stone bridges.\nFor visitors\, the best viewing experience occurs during the “blue hour” just after sunset\, when the ambient light complements the glow of the lanterns for photography. As the city is coastal\, evening temperatures can drop significantly due to sea breezes; wearing windproof layers is essential for comfort. Utilizing the local tram system is the most efficient way to navigate between the various display sites\, as many central roads are closed to vehicular traffic during the festival.
