DESCRIPTION:The Kawasaki Daishi Wind Chime Market (川崎大師風鈴市\, Kawasaki-Daishi Fūrin-ichi) is an annual event where makers from all over the country gather for 5 days at Kawasaki Daishi—one of Tokyo’s most important shrines. While wind chimes are a common sight during the summer festivals\, the market at Kawasaki Daishi is on another scale—about 30\,000 of the things are on sale in all different shapes and sizes. \n\nAll the wind chimes on display are for sale with prices typically ranging from ¥2\,000 up to ¥5\,000\, but cheaper ones can be found in the souvenir and gift shops on the road leading to the main entrance of the shrine (under ¥1\,000). There are also many food and drink stalls towards the back of the market. The Kawasaki Daishi Wind Chime Market is on from 10am to 6pm each day (until 8pm on the Thursday).
