This annual celebration of the Vyshyvanka (traditional, embroidered national costume) has been held in the Ukraine since the 1991 declaration of independence from the USSR. The Tokyo Ukraine Parade is organised by the Community for Ukrainians in Japan with the aim of spreading awareness of the culture and history of the country in Japan. The parade starts in Tokiwa Park and goes through Ginza towards Hibiya Park. Participants can borrow a Vyshyvanka for the event or are otherwise encourage to wear the Ukrainian national colors (blue and yellow) to the event. Below is a map of the route.
