The Ryogoku Nigiwai Festival (両国にぎわい祭り, Ryōgoku Nigiwai Matsuri) is an event organised by various groups and organisation in Ryogoku as a way to promote the culture and life of the area. The event attracted just under 100,000 last year with the Chanko Museum, stage events, and cultural tours of the area proving particularly popular. This is very much a community-driven event and nothing like on the scale of other cultural festivals that take place in the capital. It might be best to combine it with a visit to the Edo-Tokyo Museum while you’re in the area. The festival runs 10:30-16:00 each day.
