Ekoda Night Bazaar is held on the 4th Saturday of odd months on Ekoda Yu-Yu Road (江古田ゆうゆうロード). The stores that line the shotengai set up stalls and tables on the street and sell anything from fruits and vegetables to handmade purses and herbal tea. Those coming in search of something akin to Ueno’s Ameya Yokocho night market will be disappointed: the Ekoda Night Bazaar is very much a local event and the atmosphere is a bit like a community fair (many of the stalls are aimed at children, e.g. candy floss vendors and fairground target games). Nevertheless, for adults the night bazaar does have a charm about it and a stroll down the main street after a beer at one of the izakaya is a good way to spend an evening.
